Avoid Headaches from Water Penetration;
New Design Sheds Water Before Damage Occurs
Dear [fname],
Are you concerned about customers coming back to you with claims for mold or water damage — two, five, or even ten years after you supplied frames for a building?
You could be only a broken sprinkler head or a pounding rainstorm away from a lawsuit, because most frame profiles do not shed water.
Door Components has solved the water penetration problem with a unique profile that sheds water instead of collecting water by incorporating a downward slope into the frame profile, and also by eliminating the risk associated with having glass stops on the weather side.

This patent-pending design is expected to become the standard in the hollow metal frame industry.
The water shed design is now in full production at Door Components. Company president Bob Briggs said, “I have approached many architects about this design; they think it is a good practice for any building.”
The design is also well suited to interior use in clean rooms, because the design also eliminates the collection of dust on frames.
Steve Stearns, senior project manager at WLC Architects, supervised the design and construction of Door Components’ new manufacturing facility, which used this innovative water shed frame throughout the building. He said, “The design works perfectly. Water penetration is a big problem in commercial buildings when sprinkler heads break and spray large amounts of water onto windows. The profile of this hollow metal frame keeps a building waterproof by eliminating water intrusion. I am going to start implementing this design for all my buildings.”
